Dear all,
Welcome, and thank you once again for being here with us for another cycle of Carmina Magazine.
As we pass from one season into another, from one year into the next, I hope that this issue finds you safe and well and that it brings with it reassuring breaths of hope and inspiration. Themes of resilience, resistance, and transformation infuse the pieces within this issue, and as we try to navigate the unpredictable and often downright hostile state of this current world, I hope that we can lean on each other and find support at the communal campfire that this beautiful community of readers, contributors, and supporters has built. There are worries weighing on many of us right now, and I want you all to know that you are safe, valued, and welcome here, and that your voices and stories matter.
Briefly, before we sit down at our campfire, I do want to take a moment to share some news with you all: previous contributors Eric Brown and Elena Sunyoung Kang recently received Rhysling nominations for poems that appeared in Carmina last year. (Here and here, respectively.) Huge congratulations to both of you!
Thank you all again for being here. Let's gather close and let the storytelling begin.
With all the best wishes,
Clarabelle Miray Fields
