"Morning" (2022) by David Summerfield
David Summerfield is a graduate of Frostburg State College, Maryland, and a veteran of the Iraq war. He has been a contributor, columnist, and editor of various publications within his home state of West Virginia. His work has appeared in The Rye Whiskey Review, and El Portal (EUNM) Literary Journal.
About "Morning", David writes: "As daylight begins to ascend on a beautifully quiet and serene weekend morning, mythic in its essence, we prepare to head out to the crunch of footsteps on a trip through pastoral landscapes of Canaan Valley, West Virginia."
